Excursions from Naples
Naples to Ercolano
Herculaneum
In a simple 20-km drive southeast of the heart of Naples, your Audi R8 coupe will take you to Ercolano. There are several routes to take with E45 being the quickest. If you prefer to travel the coastline, there is a nice view from SS18. Herculaneum is one of the towns that was destroyed like Pompeii during the 79 AD Mt. Vesuvius eruption. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the few left that contains much of its original splendor.
Naples to Sorrento
Seaside resort town
From the heart of Naples, it’s only about a 55-km drive into Sorrento, a popular seaside resort on the Amalfi peninsula. Traveling via E45 and SS145 in your Ferrari 488 Spider will give you the opportunity to see much of the coastline and peninsula. There are several ports here that offer some great views including the Marina Grande and Marina Piccola. In the center of Sorrento, you’ll find the Piazza Tasso which offers numerous shopping experiences or just a place to sip some coffee at a local café.
There are also several museums including the Museo della tarsia lignea and the Museum Correale with a small archeological department. You can also swing by the Cathedral of Sorrento which dates back to the 14th century but was reconstructed in 1924. Sorrento is also home to the Church of Santi Felice e Baccolo and the Monastery of St. Francesco from the 14th century. At the Punta del Capo, make sure you stop and admire some amazing Roman ruins before you head back to Naples.
All of these trips and more are made more enjoyable when you invest in a fun and adventurous sports car to travel in. With the highest levels of style, technology and comfort, you and your traveling companions will be grateful you indulged in this high-class ride. Get out on the road and see where it leads.
