Drive Your Porsche on the German Autobahn
Frankfurt to Stuttgart
Porsche Museum
What a better way to spend a few days in your Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet than traveling the 250 kilometers south to Stuttgart. Take the A5 Autobahn and stop in many of the local cities along the way like Darmstadt, Mannheim or Heidelberg.
The original museum first opened in 1976 and was located right near the Porsche factory. It was only large enough at the time to hold about 20 exhibits. The new Porsche museum was built in 2005 and is located outside the Porsche headquarters in Zuffenhausen and covers over 60,000 square-feet of space. Currently, it features around 80 exhibits which include many historical and rare cars.
Once inside the lobby, you’ll take notice of the ramp leading into a spacious exhibition center. This allows you to experience a breathtaking view of the impressive collections. Inside the museum, you’ll quickly learn about the Porsche product, motorsport history plus the spirit and passion of the people who work hard for Porsche.
This living auto museum also features many specific topics from time to time as well as special event planning. Regularly the exhibits are changed so visitors can also view something new and exciting, even if they’ve been there many times before. With the newest addition, the Porsche Touchwall, visitors can enjoy the 39-foot exhibit showcasing decades of automobile history via pictures, technical data and drawings. This allows all who visit to enjoy the Porsche street cars and racecars with a new appreciation.
If you are spending some time in town, there are plenty of other museums to enjoy as well. Consider visiting the Mercedes-Benz Museum, the Stuttgart Art Museum or possibly the local History Museum.
No matter where your travels take you, many will stop to take notice of you in your luxurious Porsche rental vehicle. Through the city streets, over the winding country roads and even parked outside the Porsche Museum, you’ll stand out from the crowd with your classy and impressive Porsche.
